It’s Craft Show Season, Baby! What the Heck do you Need to do to Get Ready?!

It’s that time of year when you dust off your POS terminal, organize your stock, and make sure you have enough business cards. That’s right, it’s craft show season!! After a long, cold winter it is finally time to make some sweet, sweet moula. Sometimes when you have not sold at a show for a few months you might feel a little rusty.

Here are 3 tips to get you back into top selling form:

1. Write out all the shows you have coming up in the next few months. This will give you a good idea of when everything is and what you will need to bring. Try to guess-timate how much stock you need to prepare based on previous years. If you have never done the show before, chat with a fellow crafter who has. If you don’t know too many crafty peeps, ask the organizer what anticipated attendance will be.

2. Make a laundry list of EVERYTHING you need to bring to have a successful show. Table covering, sign, paper rolls, tape, display unit, all come to mind. Then go through your gear and make sure you have it all organized. Clear plastic bins are great for this so go buy some in different sizes. Labeling can save you heaps of time later on too.

3. Think about your marketing game plan for the season. Are you going to send out a press release announcing what shows you will be at and what you have that is fresh and new? Are you going to *finally* set up a Twitter account to let your fans know what you are up to? Perhaps doing a big contest would drum up excitement. Write out your plan of action and check out what others are doing to get some new ideas.

Alright crafty superstar, if you do these 3 things you are going to be set and ready to rock!! Good luck this season and keep me posted.

Sparkly love,
